I wanted to create a project that spoke to the 90s rise of dance music culture. My design was type-based with posterized blurred videos of nightlife to communicate the fast paced energy of a dance party. The colors are drawn from the blues of the night time and the bright pop of color coming from lasers commonly used in parties. This was meant to be a title sequence for a docu series so there are common documentary elements such as photo collages and news clip outs describing the moral panic and attention from the media. When it comes to animation I wanted to experiment with text so I used this video to demonstrate various typographic movements.
